How do we know people? How do we get to know those people? And perhaps most importantly, how do we come to know completion, to know those we claim to know the best? People are ever-adapting creatures who can be experiencing so much or nothing at all at the same time. For this reason, I’m fascinated with human faces, color, and how people interact with each other.

My journey began as a timid investigation on what it takes to get to know someone on a deeper level. Momentarily, I became dispassionate with the lack of participants only to realize the key was time. Spending the time with the faces and having them present during the work, having them see the time it took to complete the works, opened the door to connection. Keeping myself mobile by working digitally allowed me to be more visible and easily share my progress on social media.

This journey taught me that getting to know someone, anyone, is something that happens while you’re in each other’s presence, while working with each other, while looking together. While looking and listening are useful methods of investigation, what I learned, I learned kinesthetically.
